Description
Three-layer classic — buttery pretzel crust, creamy filling, and glossy strawberry gelatin on top.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping
- 1 (6 oz) box strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups sliced strawberries, fresh or thawed frozen, well-drained
Instructions
- Mix the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press into a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes. Cool completely.
- Beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth, then fold in the whipped topping.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust, sealing all the way to the edges.
- Chill the cream layer until firm, at least 1 hour.
- Dissolve the strawberry gelatin completely in the boiling water. Let cool to room temperature, then stir in the well-drained strawberries.
- Pour the gelatin mixture gently over the firm cream layer. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until fully set.
Notes
Sealing the cream layer to the edges prevents the strawberry layer from soaking into the pretzel crust. Let the gelatin cool to room temperature before pouring so it doesn’t melt the cream layer. Best enjoyed within 2 days, as the pretzel crust softens over time.
